Students from the University of Miami (UM) and the University of Florida (UF) come together to solve our nation’s impending educational inequality crisis.

  • Nathalie Rodriguez

    Chair

    Nathalie is currently a senior at the University of Miami studying Economics and Political Science on a pre-law track. She began this organization with the goal of providing students with the resources to advance their future aspirations regardless of any limitations they may face.

  • Pardiss Kaviani

    Co-President

    Pardiss Kaviani is from Potomac, Maryland. She recently graduated from University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in health sciences and a minor in public health, and is currently applying to medical school. She joined Mentoring America as a mentor because she wanted to help high school students with the college application process. She got more and more involved with Mentoring America as she saw the impact we were making in student’s lives and our community.

  • Sophia Corrales

    Co-President

    Sophia is a junior at the University of Florida where she is majoring in Civil Engineering and minoring in Business.

  • Sabrina Lazo

    Secretary

    Sabrina’s hometown is Miami, Florida. She currently studies at the University of Miami. She is majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology on the Premed track while also minoring in English and Chemistry. She joined Mentoring America because she remembers wishing for more guidance as an undergrad being the first in her family to pursue medicine. She wants students, no matter their socioeconomic background, to believe they can accomplish whatever aspirations they have.

  • Hannah Drum

    Vice President

    Hannah is from Pittsburgh, Pa and is a senior at the University of Miami double majoring in Biology and Microbiology. She joined Mentoring America because she remembers how lost she felt during the college application process and she wanted to make sure she could give back to those in a similar situation.

  • Sofi Lopez

    Director of Mentorship Programs

    Sofi is from Miami, FL and a recent graduate from the University of Miami. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and is now taking a gap year to apply to medical schools. She joined Mentoring America in order to make a difference in her community by providing students with the support, resources, and opportunities necessary to achieve their academic and professional aspirations.

  • Vanessa Arguello

    Director of Public Relations

    Vanessa is from Miami, Florida and is a senior at the University of Florida. She is majoring in Advertising with a minor in Spanish Language and Composition and Sociology. Vanessa joined Mentoring America because she wanted to find a way to gain real world experience in the field she hopes to work in after graduation while giving back to her community.

  • Ryan Schlesier

    Director of Outreach

    Ryan Schlesier is from San Diego, California. He is a senior at the University of Miami where he studies Marketing and Entrepreneurship. He joined Mentoring America because he wants to give back to those who are underprivileged and make sure they have the opportunity to get the same college experience as he did.

  • Adriana León

    Director of Web Development

    Adriana León is from Berkeley, California. She is a senior at the University of Miami studying Computer Science and Graphic Design. She keeps our website up-to-date so that members always have access to accurate information. She also seeks out ways to grow public interest and improve web development throughout the organization.

  • Winn Morley

    Co-Director of Finance

    Winn Morley is from Denver, Colorado. He is currently a senior at the University of Miami, where he is studying Finance and Business. He joined Mentoring America due to the values and goals of the organization. The importance of mentoring aligns with his personal experience of not only being a mentor, but knowing the importance of having one when new opportunities come up.

  • Alejandro Grillo

    Co-Director of Finance

    Alejandro was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He is currently attending the University of Florida, studying Political Science with a concentration in Wealth Management and Business Administration. He joined Mentoring America because he wants to help kids get motivated to reach their college dreams.

  • Anthony Zisa

    Mentorship Programs Coordinator

    Anthony is from Long Island, New York and is currently a senior at the University of Miami. He is studying Biology with minors in both Chemistry and Psychology. He joined Mentoring America because he wanted an opportunity to make a serious impact on the next generation of students in their transition to college.

  • Alyssa Granda

    Public Relations Coordinator

    Alyssa is from Miami, FL and is a senior at the University of Florida. She is majoring in Media Production, Management, and Technology with a minor in Leadership. Alyssa joined Mentoring America because she finds the organization inspiring in the way it helps students in need of guidance.

  • Julia Yu

    Outreach Coordinator

    Julia is from Manasquan, New Jersey. She is an Economics Major at the University of Miami with a minor in Business Law. She joined Mentoring America because she feels that equal access to education is one of the most important issues facing our country. Mentoring America’s mission is based off this idea and has made great strides to diminish that inequality, which is something she wanted to be part of.

    Public Relations Coordinator

    Julia Si is from Long Island, New York. She is currently studying Biochemistry & Nutrition with minors in Dance and Psychology at the University of Miami. She joined Mentoring America with the intention of helping students have an equal opportunity at a higher education.

  • Alvin Baranov

    Mentorship Programs Coordinator

    Alvin Baranov is from Brooklyn, New York. He is currently studying Biochemistry on the pre-med track with minors in Psychology and Health Management and Policy at the University of Miami. He joined MAC because he feels that all students, regardless of background, should have access to a mentor that can help them succeed.

  • Daniela Duarte

    Finance Coordinator

    Daniela is from Bogota, Colombia but her hometown is Weston, Florida. She attends the University of Florida double majoring in Finance and Political Science. Daniela joined MAC because she wants to be able to provide the next generations with the help that she knows she needed, with help that makes all the difference in the world. She likes that it helps show students that there is more out there and it is all attainable and possible.

  • Tay Burrell

    Outreach Coordinator

    Tay Burrell is from Boca Raton, Florida. She is currently an MBA candidate at William & Mary University. She joined Mentoring America to continue being a resource and positive influence in her community.
